DAVID MARTIN
David Martin (SHS Class of 1999).
Relentless. Resilient. Champion.
David Martin stands among the most accomplished and versatile athletes in Sisters High
School history. Competing from 1996 to 1999, he excelled in football, basketball, swimming,
and track & field, earning recognition as one of the premier multi-sport athletes of his era.
On the gridiron, David powered the Outlaws to the 1998 3A State Football Championship,
rushing for over 2,000 yards while playing both offense and defense. His dominance earned
him the title of Oregon 3A Football Player of the Year. In track & field, David was a
cornerstone of the 1996 3A state runner-up team, setting the school record in the pole vault
(14’10”) and contributing to the record-setting 4x100m relay team. He was named Track &
Field MVP in 1999 and received the High School Sportsmanship Award, embodying the
perseverance, humility, and competitive spirit that define the Outlaw legacy. His tenacious
effort and work ethic continue to serve as an example for future generations of Sisters
athletes.
Following graduation, David served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army before
launching a career with Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company. Rising through the ranks
from carpenter to General Superintendent, David now oversees all aspects of major
construction projects across Central Oregon. His leadership has been described as “marked
by humility, purpose, and integritythe same qualities that made him a trusted teammate
and now make him a respected leader.” David Martin exemplifies the Outlaw tradition of
excellence—a student-athlete whose commitment, integrity, and leadership have left an
enduring mark on his school, his profession, and his community.
